Now more than ever, businesses take quality of life into account before choosing where to locate. Adams County had recreation and other quality of life amenities that are second to none. A nature lovers dream, there are thousands of acres of woods and water to explore.
Outdoor recreation is one of the main reasons that people come to enjoy Adams County. Situated on Wisconsin’s second and fourth largest lakes, Petenwell and Castle Rock, Adams County sees visitors from all over the country who come to enjoy all the fishing, water skiing, and family boating that these lakes (and our 30 or so other lakes) have to offer.
Petenwell and Castle Rock County Parks also offer camping, and there are many other campgrounds for visitors to enjoy. Boat launches are scattered throughout the county, and getting out on the water is never a problem.We also offer many hiking trails for visitors to stroll down and Roche-A-Cri State Park showcases beautiful views of much of the county, along with having the sheerest cliff in Wisconsin. Hunting land is plentiful, and there are ATV and snowmobile trails that go throughout much of Adams County. Dyracuse Park offers approx. 250 acres of land for ATV riders to enjoy, including off road motorcycle tracks.
Adams County is home to several fantastic golf courses. Whether you are a beginner or a pro, you will be sure to find a course that is as easy or as challenging as you want. Lake Arrowhead, with the 18-hole Pines Course and the 18-hole Lakes Course, is a championship golf course that is consistently voted one of the top courses in Wisconsin.
The Castle Course at Northern Bay offers replica holes of from some of the most famous golf courses in the country. Family friendly Moundview Golf Club is conveniently located just outside of the City of Adams and the Village of Friendship. Pinecrest Golf and Archery, at the southern end of the county, offers a lovely par three golf experience combined with an outdoor 3-D archery range. The newest golf resort in Adams County, Sand Valley, is breathtaking. Sand Valley is currently open and playable, with more courses at the resort either being constructed or in the planning phases.
Whether it’s fishing, canoeing, skiing, golf, hiking, hunting, sailing, horseback riding, or snowmobile and ATV riding, everyone is sure to find something that they enjoy.
